Waking up Dead Book Trailer – Thursday Teaser

198289_447127648682546_1410467668_nThe countdown to the release of Waking up Dead, The Western Werewolf Legend # 2 continues with the addition of a book trailer.  Hugh  Jackman is my inspiration for Tyler Loflin and he appears in the trailer.

Now, here’s a blurb for Waking up Dead:

Tyler and Sonja face insurmountable obstacles when they discover the vampires posing as Yankee soldiers desire their blood.  The vultures will use any means necessary to get what they want, even harming Sonja’s family.  Under the vampires noses, Tyler and Sonja execute a midday escape, taking Tyler’s men with them.

Escaping on a slow wagon train trip south where anything can happen, Tyler and Sonja face danger at every pass.  Trusting few, they  travel a treacherous road to freedom.  Responsible for not only Sonja, but everyone else on the train, Tyler struggles with the demands of being a werewolf who’s not only temperamental but in love with another werewolf.

Sonja needs to prove she’s strong and worthy of her ‘gift’.  Her determination doesn’t always set well with those she cares about.  Running into opposition isn’t something new for this she-wolf as she faces each objection to her plans.

Hortence, the witch, the Guardian and Confederate Major General, Jeb Stewart are some of the odd group of protectors that believe in her and the ‘gift’.  Despite all their assistance, Tyler finds his job difficult.  She’s placing herself in harm’s way and he’s the one who must save her.

Will the enemy kidnap her from under their noses or will the vampires boldly take her in the heat of battle?  Don’t miss the answer to this question and others as Tyler and Sonja’s journey in discovering what it means to be a werewolf in love continues.

The Lady in the Mist, The Western Werewolf Legend #1

Driven by some inner demon, Ty sank deeper and deeper into her heat as the nymph turned sorceress writhed under him.  Her moans gave way to growls of pleasure as the hunger grew in them both.  Urged on by the craving, Sonja dug her nails into Ty’s back.  He tasted blood inside his mouth as teeth bit and tongues searched for sucker.  His world spiraled upward, the fever pitch, the likes of which he’d never experienced.  Pain became pleasure and ache became longing as this woman matched his lusty thrusts with a furor of her own until their appetites brought them to the pinnacle of the storm.  Ty’s world exploded into thousands of tiny lights as he watched her come.  Following her lead, he spilled his seed into her.

In the twilight of their coupling, Ty watched as she slept and marveled at the bliss he found in this woman’s arms.  Sonja held him captive and he wouldn’t know peace without her by his side.  Vowing he’d do everything in his power to keep her there, he drifted downward to be cradled in her arms.

The Lady in the Mist:

Ty followed her silently to the edge of the bed before running his hands down the length of Sonja’s back to where the dress hung on her hips.  With one push, he sent the garment falling to the floor in a pool of cotton and aged lace.  Taking his big hands, he reached around her, pressing her body to his.  She fit perfectly to the hard plains and contours of his skin.  As if she’d been made for him, she hugged his heat.  His fingers traced the lines of her woman’s shape and soon he found her mound, the curls tantalizing and inviting.  The soft moan, as it left her lips, whispered his name and she moved under his hand.  Exploring the tender folds of her woman’s flesh, he found her wet and ready.  She turned in his arms, pressing her mound to his groin as she urged him with her thrusts.

Sonja leaned further back on the bed, “Now…” she whispered.

With one swift move, Ty scooped her up, depositing her under him.  He wasted no time in following her to the soft down of the mattress.  Spreading her legs, Ty hovered over Sonja as he peered into her face.  The passion he saw there spoke to him more than words as he drove himself inside her, plunging deep and feeling her fist around him like a velvet glove.

She bowed, calling his name, “Yes, Ty, oh yes!”

“Help me, Ty!”

Her anxious directive caught him off guard.  Ty opened his eyes and blinked.  Sonja stood in front of him with her forehead creased in frustration.  The effort to free him from his pants proved too much.  Did she realize how beautiful she looked standing there in the half-light of the sun streaming through the window?  Ty’s head swam as he watched her frustration with the buttons of his trousers.

“Here, let me.”  Ty stilled her hands and deftly undid his pants, stepping out.  The scare along his thigh, still angry and tender, stretched taught.  Ty flinched involuntarily.  How long had it been since he’d been with a woman?

She reached out and laid trembling fingers on his arm.

He swore low as his shaft jumped.  His blood, already warm, surged through his body like a fire through dry tender.  Unable to stop the rush, he let his head fall back and reveled in the sensation.  No woman had ever made him feel like Sonja did.

Her slow glide downward awakened nerve endings, igniting them into flames.  Tentative fingers slid along the taught flesh just above the crisp hair surrounding his shaft.  Her face filled with anticipation as she touched his heat.  Closing her eyes, she smiled as he throbbed in her fist.  Suddenly, her eyes flew open and she reached out, taking his hand in hers as she picked up her skirt and headed for the bedroom.

2012 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 2,900 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 5 years to get that many views.

Confessions by Wendy Ely

Today I have the special pleasure of sitting down with the author of Confessions, Wendy Ely.  Thanks for stopping by, Wendy.

“Thanks for having me, Catherine.  I always love visiting with you and your readers.”

I know you have a lot to tell my readers today.  So let’s get started.

What motivates you to write?

This might sound weird but the need to write. I have to create the stories in my head or I’m not a happy girl.

How did you come up with the title for your novel?

For the Desert Secret books, I wanted all of the titles based on one theme: secrets. The first book in the series, Confessions, seemed appropriate because Chelsea returns to her hometown to confess her secret to Jordan.

What were the challenges (research, literary, psychological, and logistical) in bringing it to life?

The biggest challenge was life getting in the way of writing Confessions. I had a boyfriend totally disappear just as Chelsea did to Jordan. I had already written that part of the book when it had happened to me. I sat in my home and cried for a long time. I didn’t want to write the story anymore but knew I had to keep moving forward. I relived my pain while I revised the scene when Jordan confronts Chelsea about leaving all those years ago.

Who is your most popular character?

My most popular character is Chelsea because people can relate to her. People make bad choices in their life occasionally and not always get a second chance. Chelsea gets her second chance.

What was the hardest part of writing your book?

Writing the difficult scenes. There are some gut-wrenching situations in the book and I had to feel every emotion along with the characters. It took me on a wild adventure.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

There isn’t an intended message in Confessions. I feel that reading is a personal journey and hopefully the reader will get something meaningful to them out of each of my stories.

Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

Thank you so much for reading the books I write and I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to email me any time at authorwendyely@gmail.com.

Can you share a little of your book with us?

Set low to the floor, the bathroom vanity gave her a full view of her body in the mirror. She glanced down at the ink permanently marking her, above the soft dark red curls. Never allowing herself to look straight at the tattoo, she glanced away out of habit but decided this once she could look. After all, they were alone together in a hotel. If there was ever a good time for this, it was now. The fingers of her right hand slid over the ink as she walked closer to the mirror.

When they were sixteen Jordan had promised her his love forever. Instead of a removable, they felt it was more symbolic with something permanent.

The red ink of the heart stood out against her skin like blood on a white silk sheet. The handle of the knife sticking into the heart read “Jordan.” Did he still have his? Or had he visited the artist to have the knife handle colored in? She whirled around and turned on the hot water in the shower.

Thanks again to Wendy Ely for coming by today.  Any questions or comments you have, please feel free to leave for Wendy or myself.  I appreciate all of you who enjoy my blog and look forward to hearing from you.
