It’s been five years since I began writing. Sometimes, I wonder what I’d have done if I hadn’t found writing as an outlet for my thoughts, concerns, ideas, creative energy.
Lately, I enjoy writing in a historical setting with paranormal elements such as wolves and werewolves. The mysticism allows my mind wander and ask ‘why not?’
There are times I sit and simply read through the story in my head. Getting to know the characters and their personalities, quirks and talents always prove to be a challenge I love tackling.
What would you say, if I told you, the next book will include the 3rd great granddaughter of Laura Sinclair as well as an ancient sorcerer’s nephew? ‘Magic Man’ is the latest work in progress based on the adventures of the sexy seer, Aubry Slone, and devilishly delicious, Logan Latimar, 3rd great grandnephew of Morgan. Can he shift? We’ll see. So many ways the story could unfold when you write by the seat of your pants, a.k.a. – a ‘pantster.’
In case you are interested, I have ‘Desire’s Embrace’, ‘Comanche Haven’ and ‘Casey’s Gunslinger’ on sale at Smashwords.com and AllRomanceEbooks.com at least until the end of November. Just my small way of saying thanks for all your support. Here’s an excerpt from ‘Desire’s Embrace.’
Morgan could still feel her touch. The burn ran along his skin in a most enticing way. He straightened his back, giving the steam buggy a good surge forward. Eyes on the road, hands on the wheel. Mind on Miss Sinclair. Damn it! Who was he kidding? The woman had somehow gotten past his guard. A quick glance in her direction and he had to grin. The whole episode in his room earlier was totally inappropriate. Every ounce of blood in his body had surged right to his groin with the feel of her hand on his neck. Who knew a fool thing like a collar could be useful in sexual arousal. Irritation rippled along his backbone. Again, he reminded himself he did not need the added weight of yet another problem. An affair with Miss Sinclair would be a problem. Truth!
Parties are fun! Release parties on Facebook are a blast when you can celebrate with the people who read your books! I’m thrilled and looking forward to March 7th and the official release of Casey’s Gunslinger #2 from The Loflin Legacy series. Click on the book cover to be transported to the party!
Those of you who know me and are familiar with my stories, know I enjoy writing western romance. I also like mixing it up a bit and adding a few paranormal elements to my work. Check out The Western Werewolf Legend series if you don’t believe me. The Civil War will never be the same. Lol
Did you know I enjoy steampunk romance as well? That’s one you need to remember for the upcoming release party. (Hint) I also love a good regency romance. I still enjoy a steamy old fashioned bodice ripper as well. Some may need to look up the definition to that one, by the way. *eye wink* Still, my favorite romance is a western and a historical one to boot. You get such dynamic variation in your characters that aren’t available in the contemporary work. This is just my opinion. Where can you ride a horse, rope a steer and shoot somebody for messing with your woman all before sunset? See what I mean? Lots of action, lots of thrills and lots of danger go into a jam packed, bronc busting ride when you read a western romance, or it should.
In Casey’s Gunslinger, Charles Harrison is a reformed hired gun turned attorney-at-law. In 1858 most attorneys were seen as shady and not worthy of trusting. Casey St. Clair rides into Tyler, Texas with a mission. She wants to find her father, the one who abandoned her as a baby because she has a score to settle. She seeks Mr. Harrison’s help.
Charles lays eyes on the lovely blonde and his world shifts. You’ll want to learn the reason behind her hatred for her father and the trouble she gets into because of that deep seeded hatred. You’ll also want to understand why Charles is so taken with the petite young woman fresh off the stage from New Orleans. I hope you enjoy reading Casey’s Gunslinger as much as I’ve enjoyed writing the story. If you haven’t read Comanche Haven #1, please do so, as the storyline overlaps and Casey’s Gunslinger is really a continuation of the tale from two new and very different viewpoints.
Again, thank you for your support and thank you for reading my books. I enjoy talking with each reader and would love to hear from you!
